Entrusting someone with family photographs is personal. Here are answers to some of the questions you may have before getting started.
Start by contacting me and telling me a little about what you have—whether it's one album or several boxes of photographs. We'll discuss what you'd like to preserve and I'll recommend the best service for your collection. You'll know the cost before your project begins.
No. You don't need to sort everything first. Helping families make sense of boxes, albums and collections of photographs is part of what The Memory House does.
Yes. Your original photographs remain yours and are returned to you after your project is completed.
Photographs are handled carefully and kept together as a customer collection while they're being worked on. I understand that these aren't simply photographs—they may be one-of-a-kind family memories.
Your family memories remain private. The Memory House does not share or use customer photographs without permission. Digital working files are retained for 30 days after the completed project is delivered, giving you time to confirm that you've received everything. After that period, project files are deleted unless we've made other arrangements.
Yes. Basic photo restoration is available for photographs that are faded, discoloured, scratched or otherwise damaged. Restoration starts at $20 per photo, with the final cost confirmed before restoration begins.
Yes. The Memory House can turn your photographs into photo books, family memory projects, slideshows and memorial or tribute videos. We can discuss the story you'd like the finished project to tell.
Local pickup and delivery may be available in Collingwood and surrounding communities. The cost depends on location and will be confirmed in advance.
Memory Rescue Day is a special introductory event designed to help families finally get started with those boxes of photographs. For $99, you can have up to 100 photographs professionally scanned with basic digital organization and digital delivery. Your original photographs are carefully returned to you.
